Facilities

Show guests which facilities and amenities are available at your Place.

What are facilities?

Facilities describe the practical features and amenities available to guests at your Place.

They help guests decide whether the location is suitable for their visit and understand what they may need to bring.

Select only facilities that are available

Add a facility only when guests booking the Place are genuinely permitted to use it.

For example, do not select parking because parking exists elsewhere on the property if guests are not allowed to use it.

Be clear and accurate

Guests may rely on facilities when planning their visit. Incorrect information can cause inconvenience, complaints or cancelled bookings.

Common facilities

The facilities available will vary between Places. Examples may include:

  • On-site parking.
  • Toilet facilities.
  • Drinking water.
  • Covered shelter.
  • Picnic tables or seating.
  • Campfire or firepit areas.
  • Waste disposal.
  • Accessible paths or step-free access.
  • Dog-friendly areas.
  • Electricity or charging facilities.

Explain important limitations

A facility may be available but still have limitations. These should be explained in your Place or Experience description.

For example:

  • Parking may be suitable for only two vehicles.
  • A toilet may be seasonal or located away from the main area.
  • Drinking water may not be available during winter.
  • Mobile reception may be limited.
  • A path may be unsuitable for wheelchairs after heavy rain.
Good example

Parking is available for up to three cars beside the main entrance. The final section of the access track is uneven and may become muddy during wet weather.

Facilities and Experiences

Facilities are managed at Place level because they normally describe the physical location. However, an individual Experience may include additional arrangements or restrictions.

Explain these differences clearly in the Experience description. For example, a shelter may be included with daytime hire but not available during overnight bookings.

Keeping facilities up to date

Update your facilities whenever something is added, removed, temporarily unavailable or no longer safe for guests to use.

You should also update your photographs and descriptions when a significant facility changes.
